The Rev. Scott Moore, Priest

Father Scott is a U.S. American living in Germany and relatively new himself to the Episcopal Church. Originally from a non-churched home, he came to the Christian faith through a Lutheran elementary school. After completing his studies in Music Education (B.S.), he went on to prepare for pastoral ministry and completed the Master of Divinity (M.Div.)  at what was then the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg (now United Lutheran Seminary). During that time, Fr. Scott spent one year as an exchange student at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. As a Lutheran pastor, Fr. Scott served parishes in and around Chicago and in Lutherstadt Eisleben Germany (2003-2009).

He moved with his family in 2010 to Erfurt to begin his Dr. theol. at the University of Erfurt in Liturgical Studies. From 2013-2016 through ecumenical relationships with the United Methodist Church (EmK) in Erfurt, he served as pastor to the Methodist congregation in Erfurt.

Continuing his ecumenical journey, he began his tenure as the Vicar at the Anglican/Episcopal Church of St. James the Less in Nuremberg. This experience led him to transfer to the Episcopal Church, and in 2018, he became an Episcopal priest.

Fr. Scott lives in Erfurt and is the father of a wonderful daughter. It is there that he also started the weekly service of Evening Prayer currently held at the Augustinian Monastery Church every Thursday. Music plays a huge role in his life and you can usually find him, in his free time, trying to make some kind of sounds on some kind of instrument.
